You can donate directly to Computers for Classrooms by visiting our facility during business hours – Monday through Friday between 9:00 and 4:00.
All hard drives are removed from computers without turning on the system. The hard drives are either wiped completely by White Canyon software or are destroyed by our Degausser. All hard drives are processed in the same way. If you prefer to have written documentation and Certification of Wipe/Destruction for your records, there is a $6.00 charge per hard drive for special processing. Many medical clients, tax preparers, attorneys and others prefer to have the written documentation.
We accept computers, monitors, television sets, accessories, printers, servers, cell phones, cables and most electronics. An industry has grown over the past few years called Urban Mining. By reusing the commodities, there is a slowdown in mining new ore and the water needed to process it. Nothing goes to the landfill.
We accept working or non-working items. We triage the donations to determine if we can reuse, repair or harvest working parts. Anything that cannot be used is recycled. CFC is an R2:2013 Certified Recycler. CFC is audited each year by an outside Auditor to be certain that we are following the highest standards of Health and Safety, Environment protection, Data Sanitization, Warehouse Management and following any items leaving the facility to Approved Downstream Vendors. The following are acceptable items.
