How can I donate computers?

We are a non-profit organization and can offer donors a charitable donation form.

If you represent a government agency and wish to donate, our State of California DFG donee number is: 04-50015-4C. CFC is one of only five state approved refurbishers and reports quarterly to the Department of General Services.

We are providing a U.S. Department of Defense level security wipe of the hard drives for all donated computers. We do not want recipients to retrieve any data from a computer given out by us. Computers are not even plugged in until the hard drive has been removed to another location for wiping. We use Paragon Disk Wiper or Blancco to wipe hard drives.

The CFC program makes weekly trips to the Sacramento area to pick up computers in quantity. We prefer picking up palletized units but we may hand load depending upon the quality of the donations. There is no charge for this service.

We may also make trips to the Bay area to pick up donations depending upon the quantity and quality of the computers being donated.

We pick up all computers and accessories and do not pick and choose only the best units. We are prompt and very dependable which is why our program has grown over the years.

Please contact us to see how best to handle your donations.

If you represent a company wishing to wipe the hard drives at your site, we have worked out a special pricing program through Blancco. If you agree to donate your computer systems to CFC, Blancco will offer you a reduced price so that you can wipe the drives before sending them to CFC. The Blancco wipe will give you a print out showing the successful wiping of the drive, including the serial number and other information. The wiping and documentation will meet the Hipaa regulations for medical institutions and hospitals. For further information and pricing email Brad Peterson at brad.peterson@blancco.com.

CFC will still wipe the drives once again so that you can be doubly assured that critical data cannot be retrieved.
